Overview
Designing the system around the experiments
As experimentation scaled, the challenge became bigger than individual tests. I helped strengthen the design practice around testing by improving governance, accessibility, consistency, and cross-functional collaboration. The goal was to help teams move quickly while maintaining experience quality and creating a stronger foundation for repeatable, scalable experimentation.
Problem
As experimentation scaled across teams and touchpoints, the challenge became maintaining speed without sacrificing accessibility, consistency, or design quality. Different teams were contributing to test ideas, but without strong shared standards, there was a risk of fragmented experiences and unnecessary rework. The opportunity was to create a more consistent design approach around experimentation while still preserving the flexibility needed to move quickly.
Solution
I helped formalize how creative work moved through the experimentation practice, including developing and presenting a decision framework to leadership that clarified ownership based on strategic value, complexity, guest-experience risk, and execution needs. The framework kept net-new, roadmap-connected, and higher-risk work with UXUI while allowing established-pattern production work to move faster through partner teams, with UXUI review preserved as a quality guardrail. Alongside clearer governance and accessibility expectations, this created a more scalable model for experimentation: teams could move quickly without treating every test the same or sacrificing consistency across the broader experience.
